The smell of battle covers the ancient battlefield like the clock of Chiron, and bitter metal smell of death permeates the cold dark. Upon this battlefield where a crooked flag hangs askew on top a lone hill, a long lost voice whispers of valor and victories long past.
A knight comes into view, dressed in well-used armor; he crests the hill and stands for a moment silent in the refreshing wind. He reaches out to the banner, and straightens it before setting it more deeply in to the moist earth, where the wind catches the edge of the flag pulling it taunt in the breeze, revealing the three purple arrows upon a field of gold.
It's the LUSTY MONTH OF MAY. Come a-Maying, practice the arts of chivalry; share in the festivities of sports, fighting and courtly love; enjoy music and gaiety and feasting. Greetings, Welcome to Grand Outlandish XXXIII. This year we will again be holding the event at our beautiful site at the Founders Ranch. Be sure to check out the pictures and talk to people who went last year.
Warm breezes have melted the snow from our Caledonian mountaintops, and Spring has come to paint our vistas green. The time has come to emerge from our winter's refuge by the fireside, and to play once more on fields of soft grasses. It is time to air our pavilions and tents, and gather together to tell stories of great deeds around the campfire ... and to add a few more tales for years to come.
Greetings from the Shire of Crystal Crags. With the Sun and warmth of spring on its way we would like to invite one and all to the sixth annual Gallow Games.
We will be holding our annual arts and sciences competition. All attendees are welcome to enter into this competition where Lord Ely of Silver Oak will be offering the prize for this year's champion. All entries will need to be in no later than 10am Saturday the 27th. We'll have games, contests, competitions and prizes. We will also be having our Shire auction, and all auction donations will enter you in a raffle.
