Look out! It's the Gauls! They are taking over Fool's Revel. Yes, it's all things Gaulish at the Revel this year. Time for a bit of Roman bashing and feasting on wild boar. There'll be the magic potion / super power Tourney for the fighters; a Worst Bard contest during feast; and in the spirit of looking for new Heralds, your Baronial Herald is sponsoring a Contest! Isabel de la Haye will bring a "ceremony" that will read by contestants COLD. Points will be awarded for Best Pronouncement (what you say) – Best Inflection (how you say it) – Best Projection (how well you make it heard) – and how enjoyable you make your spiel! Other contests include: Asterix & Obelix Jeopardy! (Brush up on your Gaulish facts and trivia!) And the A&S competition: best small box (under 12") in any mode.

The Starkhafn School of Defense will be offering a Rapier Practicum on March 31 and April 1, 2007 in Starkhafn. The Practicum will be held at the Nevada State Museum and Historical Society in Lorenzi Park, 700 Twin Lakes Drive, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89107. The site will open at 8:00 Saturday morning and close at 5:00, followed immediately by a Social evening at the Museum. The site will open again at 8:00 on Sunday morning, with classes running until 2:00. Instructors will be drawn from Caid, Artemisia and Atenveldt, as well as the West, the Midrealm and An Tir.

Sworded Affaire has fallen into the hands of the 7 Heavenly Virtues and the 7 Deadly Sins. This day will offer a few A & S classes for those who wish not to fight, Classes such as “Navigation by the Stars”,and “How would you really die?”.

Three tournaments and possibly a melee or two held by Don Govanen Blackwell for those who are all about the fighting, Tournaments such as “Epee only”, “Schlager only”, and a “Burning Deck Tourney”

The drums of War can be heard coming from the mountains as a gentle wind blows across the valley of Windale! OK so there will be drums and lots of wind of course, but not war, like some might think. We will have many of the war-like games you have all grown to love. Hobby horse jousting, crazy hard suit tourney, scavenger hunting and of course tossing of some poor object. There will be a silent auction with many of our local artisans showing their talents.

It is my honor to write to you today to promote my event, the NE Regional Fighter Practice held on 3/31 in the Barony of Coeur d'Ennui (Camp Dodge Military Base, Johnston, IA Held inside the MILLER ARMORY.) From 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. we will have Authorizations, Melee classes which culminate in Huscarl VS the world matches and onsite showers. The site fee is $5/mem & $8/non-member.

It's that time of year again for Arrows' Flights' annual "And now for something completely different" event. This year's mystery is ... Where are the Arrows' Flight Archers?!!! This is to be a great event. There will be fighting of both styles with the criteria for prizes to be announced.

As is tradition (two years now) there will also be a "bad garb" contest with prizes in at least two categories: outrageously awful garb, and mix-and-match garb. So celebrate the end of winter, drag your awful garb out of the back of the closet, and come party with the Shire.
