It has become widely known within the Barony of the Far West that Palatine Baron Jak is a great patron of the arts. In fact with the advancing of the season from winter to spring he has decided to abdicate so that he may go in search of the one perfect Cherry Blossom. Therefore he wishes to find the greatest philosopher within the barony to replace him.
To find this philosopher he has asked his seneschal to hold a great arts and sciences tournament in which each of the great philosophers and artisans within our barony may enter their best works from five different arts and sciences. The baronial champion of the arts, Bernadette, and the Baron and Baroness will select the very best of the best philosophers by judging this arts and sciences tournament.

The arrival of cherry blossoms signals the end of chilly winter and the most anticipated season change. We find our imaginations still intact and undampened. Warriors of the Kamakura Period (late 12th - 14th c.) always considered cherry blossoms the symbol of a life lived fully, no matter how short. So do we at this time of rejoicing and reflection, gather with family and friends to appreciate the passing and coming of seasons. Spread your blanket picnic style and share in revelry, food, fighting (both heavy and rapier), singing, dancing and do as much as we can outdoors.

Drop your heavy burdens and travel to Logan, Utah to celebrate with the Shire of Côte du Ciel as we observe the feast day of our venerable and flammable patron, Saint Pyre. A source of warmth and light to those around him during his lifetime, and especially at the end of it, Saint Pyre's feast day is celebrated with mirth, merriment, and a distinct lack of seriousness.
The day's activities will include a heavy tournament, the traditional carrot-nosed melee, in which one lives only so long as one's carrot remains intact, a jovial round of light-hearted rapier activities, an A&S competition, and dancing.
The Province of Southern Shores cordially invites you to Newcomers Tourney, with activities for almost every interest and activity level! We encourage everyone to bring anyone who is relatively new or someone who is coming back after a sabbatical from the SCA. We are also having our Fourth Annual Used Armor Garage Sale. We invite those with cast-off/well-loved armor to bring it to sell or donate at our armor garage sale.
