Many years ago there was a caravan went missing in the wild nothingness that lies between our mighty Baronies. For nearly a decade we have been searching for the Lost Caravan. During every one of those terrible years we have sent out scouts, strained our ears for any news, and have been lighting a beacon at their last camp site in hopes of guiding them back to us. Finally our search is over.
But we have to ask, where have they been? What have they seen?

Come one and all to celebrate another summer of shooting and riding! After six celebrations of the German Schutzenfest, we're taking a trip to Mongolia. Called "the second-oldest Olympics," this summer festival has celebrated archery, horse-racing, and wrestling for centuries, reportedly since the time of Genghis Khan!
Shoot 'til you drop, ride 'til you fall, compete for the title of Schuetzenkoenig, and feast and revel into the night. The event opens with a torchlight shoot on Friday evening. Saturday starts with some challenging twists on the standard Schuetzenkoenig competition, the Nordskogen Archery Championship tourney, and an afternoon of novelty shoots and a youth-only shoot. Equestrian activities include a challenge course and horse archery.
Come join us for a weekend of games with bow and arrow (with rapier and heavy thrown in just for fun). Attendees will be encouraged to try archery. Loaner gear and instruction will be plentiful. The heavies will enjoy a woods battle (if the creek aka Platte River
don't rise). Rapiers will have a snowball tournament. After dark we will be hosting the same night shoot and flaming arrows made famous at St. Sebastian's. The monkeys versus flamingos challenge will take place during this event.

So don your traveling clothes and spend the first weekend of summer with friends, fighting, feasting and fun!

The sixth biennial Known World Dance Symposium will be held in Seattle, Washington this summer. Early pre-registration is now open, and proposals for workshops and performances are being accepted. An outline of the schedule is also available. More information about the site and lodging will be posted soon. We expect that registration for on-site lodging will be available in March.
The event is organized by the Seattle branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), the Barony of Madrone. The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Our "Known World" consists of 30,000 members residing in countries around the world. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which may feature tournaments, arts exhibits, classes, workshops, dancing, feasts, and more.
