In the year 476 A.D., the Spanish began the Reconquista of Spain, a period lasting almost 1000 years. His grace, King Pedro Santiago Villarquemada has decreed that's too bloody long, so we are going to do it again... in 4 hours!
That's right... 4 hours of continuos fighting.. All holds local to that city only.. Strategy and flow of battle will be natural, not artifically imposed. Commanders will be responsible for resting / pushing their troops to either protect Moorish Spain or to conquer it.
It is that time of year again for the Barony of Iron Bog's last big push for
the Toys for Tots campaign.
This Saturday, Dec 1st., we will gather in Pemberton, NJ for your annual
Toys for Tots Tourney.
The entrance fee for the day is one new unwrapped toy.
There will be both a heavy tourney and our baronial fencing championship.

Several months back in the Barony of Bryn Gwlad, we held a regional fighter practice with great success. Fighters from at least 3 regions of Ansteorra attended. We had fantastic fighting all day long, and a great time sharing libations and stories that evening. Well, it's time to do it again!
On December 1st in the DFW metroplex of the central region we're holding another practice and we'd like to invite anyone not attending an event that weekend to join us. This practice is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and will run until at least 4 p.m. Centurion Hrafn has secured a pavillion at Bob Eden park in Euless, TX. 901 Mid-Cities Blvd West, Euless, Texas 76039.
Come one! Come all! Join the "knights" of the oval table as they take a day off from their Quest for the Holy something-or-other and make merry at Monty Python's Pickled Pub on December 1st, 2007. English shenanigans shall ensue with maiming, brawling, bringing out the dead, hurling insults, seeking shrubbery and fighting off killer bunnies. Whilst enjoying the spectacle, lunch on fine Camelot fare, including Ham and Jam and Spam a lot.
Come out Western archers! Join us on the eastern side of beautiful Mt. Diablo at the Diablo Bowmen Archery Club to hunt and have fun shooting things! We will have 14 3-D animal targets along a wooded trail. There will also be several moving targets including a walking black bear (on wheels), a flying Canada goose (on a wire) and a rabbit (pop-up).

The Barony of Rowany invites you to celebrate the Festive season with them in grand style. In the tradition of the Italian renaissance we will be doing what we do best, re-enacting the past. As we are fascinated by the middle ages so were the 15th century Italians fascinated by the Roman age. So get out your best Italian frock and top it with a toga.
Come on down to Tear Sea's Shore for a day of fighting, fun and feasting for the annual Feast of St. Andrew. This will be a lovely little event to celebrate the holiday season and what better way then to spend it with friends.
Martial Activities: For the martially inclined, there will be the traditional Great Weapons and Mass weapons tourney. The marshal tells me a bear pit tourney will follow to make sure everyone has enough fighting for their tastes. A Round Robin tourney will tempt the rapier fighters on this glorious day.

The annual Seamarch Yule event is coming up in just a few weeks, and we are looking forward to a day of fighting, fencing, feasting, and festivities, all for children's charity. The holidays are coming, and so is the Annual Beaconsgate Boar Hunt. We will be at our traditional site, Camp Herms. In addition to the Hunt during the day, we will have many activities within the hall (dancing, singing, music, games) for non-fighters and tired fighters. Please plan to bring something for your lunch if you are coming on site early.
For those of you who may not know, a Boar Hunt is a fighting activity, with fighters armed with two maces playing the part of the Boar. Hunters are armed with spears, and hounds with daggers. There are also unarmored dogs, who seek out the boars and bark when they are discovered -- this can be a great role for a mature child accompanied by a responsible adult. If there is enough interest (and a qualified volunteer marshal), we may add a hunt for rapier fighters.
Please join the Baron and Baroness of Eskalya in welcoming the New Year at our Yule celebration December 8, 2007. The site will open at 11am with opening court held at noon.
