Of course "A mon seul desir" (meaning: "to my only desire"), will play an important part. Mistress Mirianna and Mistress Gabrielle are working on creating the six tapestries, which will hang in the hall. There will still be room for your banners, so please bring them to hang in the hall alonside the tapestries.

Well... it's a night event: there's no actual organ; and the only deer will be in the stew. But we'll have a choir if we have to kidnap gentles at random. It's all part of the diversion that will be the Barony of Storvik's Yule Revel.
We will be offering a wide variety of amusements for your delight. Besides the aforementioned kidnappings and caroling, there will be: dancing; various contests; a decidedly bardic-friendly atmosphere; and a general warmth and light to drive the dark away. Arts & Sciences Activities: A space will be made available for those wishing to display their period desserts. There will be a gaming contest, a riddling contest, and a dessert contest (both for period and non-period desserts). Musicians and performers are welcome.

This lucky Fool then reigns as King or Queen of Fools, silly hat and all. There will be a Gluckhaus game running throughout the day. Whoever ends the day with the most baubles (whether hard earned, conned, or begged) will be declared the winner. Toward the end of the 16th century, England was ruled by Queen Elizabeth and a new playwright by the name of William Shakespeare was becoming quite well-known. Please join us for our annual Midwinter's Feast as we celebrate all the sumptuous bounty this era had to offer, both in food and entertainment! A dazzling display of gastronomic delights awaits you, including vegetarian options, and we are gathering the best performers from throughout the Summits to regale us with song, story, and dance! And, of course, there will be much dramatic performance, both taken from and inspired by the works of the Bard himself.

Regional Archery practice will be Sunday Jan 20th from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Feel free to show up any time during those times to shoot. We will again be shooting at Gander Mountain in Johnson City. This is for the Winter Challenge.

I would like to announce a regional archery practice for Sunday January 20th from 11 AM to 3 PM in Nordskogen. This will be after the Nordskogen 12th night event so for anyone who is in town Sunday feel free to stop on by.
In order to accommodate individual travel schedules the shoots will be up for the entire 4 hour period and you will not need to be there at the start or stay until the end. The practice will be held at the Bwana archery range located near 35E and Little Canada Road (directions below). This is an indoor 20 yard range with the option to place targets closer for new or youth shooters. there is a range fee of $6.50 per shooter, no charge for observers.
With only a few short weeks until War, now is the time to band together on the field of combat. His Excellency Sir Qara Gan requests all Heavy Fighters to join him on the battle field in preparation for WAR. Do you hear that sounds, my friends? Those are the drums of war that you here. And while they may seem faint now, I assure that it will not be long until War is upon us!!!

In the summer of A.S. XL1 the Cairnfell Surveying Expeditions of the Baronies of Innilgard and Stormhold set forth. The aim was to determine whether the region fell under the domain of his Excellency Baron Innilgard or his Excellency Baron Stormhold.
In the course of their endeavors they were set upon by bandits and wild men of this remote region of the realm. After a series of skirmishes in which the forces of the two Barons acquitted themselves with a degree of competence, they were met by combined forces of bandits and local hill men.
You are invited to attend Jour d'Amour III: Viking Love and experience a weekend of fun and friends. Get your team together for the IRON GARB II competition! We are also hosting a skaldic competition and a tablet weaving contest. Come see the beautiful Valkyries escort heroic warriors off the field of battle!

In the summer of A.S. XL1 the Cairnfell Surveying Expeditions of the Baronies of Innilgard and Stormhold set forth. The aim was to determine whether the region fell under the domain of his Excellency Baron Innilgard or his Excellency Baron Stormhold.
In the course of their endeavors they were set upon by bandits and wild men of this remote region of the realm. After a series of skirmishes in which the forces of the two Barons acquitted themselves with a degree of competence, they were met by combined forces of bandits and local hill men.

For the less intellectually interested, an area will be available for pickup fighting, weather permitting. Classes include: Blacksmithing, Embroidery, Medieval Games and much more! This is a friendly reminder that the Shire's annual event, the Gathering of Crusaders, is a little over 3 weeks away. The event will be on Saturday, January 26th at Riverside Park next to the Territorial Prison. The event will feature the return of the Fighter's Pit, where you can bet on your favorite fighter (or just bribe the bookie to make sure he or she wins).
We'll also have some period games, lunch prepared by Ladies Imma and Constance, and the always popular auction.

Following Investiture Court, Alden and Constantina invite all Combatants to participate in a double elimination Armoured Combat Tournament. The Tournament shall be open to all entrants, with the member of the Cynaguan Guard that advances the furthest to be named Capitan. Bring your armor and come test the mettle of the Cynaguan Guard. The tournament will be double elimination. Their Highnesses request that each combatant come prepared to deliver a toast during invocation.
Caer Galen is known as a Barony full of wonderfully talented artisans. Once a year they come together impressing all spectators with the variety of talents this lovely Barony offers.
