We will be running the Royal Rounds as usual, with submissions going towards IKAC ranking. Marshals and time permitting, we shall also be holding a variety of other shoots. A dazzling display of gastronomic delights awaits you, including vegetarian options, and we are gathering the best performers from throughout the Summits to regale us with song, story, and dance! Regional Archery practice will be Sunday Jan 20th from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Feel free to show up any time during those times to shoot. We will again be shooting at Gander Mountain in Johnson City. This is for the Winter Challenge.

I would like to announce a regional archery practice for Sunday January 20th from 11 AM to 3 PM in Nordskogen. This will be after the Nordskogen 12th night event so for anyone who is in town Sunday feel free to stop on by.
In order to accommodate individual travel schedules the shoots will be up for the entire 4 hour period and you will not need to be there at the start or stay until the end. The practice will be held at the Bwana archery range located near 35E and Little Canada Road (directions below). This is an indoor 20 yard range with the option to place targets closer for new or youth shooters. there is a range fee of $6.50 per shooter, no charge for observers.
With only a few short weeks until War, now is the time to band together on the field of combat. His Excellency Sir Qara Gan requests all Heavy Fighters to join him on the battle field in preparation for WAR. Do you hear that sounds, my friends? Those are the drums of war that you here. And while they may seem faint now, I assure that it will not be long until War is upon us!!!

In the summer of A.S. XL1 the Cairnfell Surveying Expeditions of the Baronies of Innilgard and Stormhold set forth. The aim was to determine whether the region fell under the domain of his Excellency Baron Innilgard or his Excellency Baron Stormhold.
In the course of their endeavors they were set upon by bandits and wild men of this remote region of the realm. After a series of skirmishes in which the forces of the two Barons acquitted themselves with a degree of competence, they were met by combined forces of bandits and local hill men.
You are invited to attend Jour d'Amour III: Viking Love and experience a weekend of fun and friends. Get your team together for the IRON GARB II competition! We are also hosting a skaldic competition and a tablet weaving contest. Come see the beautiful Valkyries escort heroic warriors off the field of battle!
As this year's event has a Viking theme, many of Shire of Drakenmere will be wearing Viking garb to help set the stage. We invite all who wish to participate by wearing Viking garb to please do so! This is a friendly reminder that the Shire's annual event, the Gathering of Crusaders, is a little over 3 weeks away. The event will be on Saturday, January 26th at Riverside Park next to the Territorial Prison. The event will feature the return of the Fighter's Pit, where you can bet on your favorite fighter (or just bribe the bookie to make sure he or she wins).
We'll also have some period games, lunch prepared by Ladies Imma and Constance, and the always popular auction.

Following Investiture Court, Alden and Constantina invite all Combatants to participate in a double elimination Armoured Combat Tournament. The Tournament shall be open to all entrants, with the member of the Cynaguan Guard that advances the furthest to be named Capitan. Bring your armor and come test the mettle of the Cynaguan Guard. In the summer of A.S. XL1 the Cairnfell Surveying Expeditions of the Baronies of Innilgard and Stormhold set forth. The aim was to determine whether the region fell under the domain of his Excellency Baron Innilgard or his Excellency Baron Stormhold.
In the course of their endeavors they were set upon by bandits and wild men of this remote region of the realm. After a series of skirmishes in which the forces of the two Barons acquitted themselves with a degree of competence, they were met by combined forces of bandits and local hill men.

The sound of WAR drums are getting closer and our great armies of the Outlands are preparing for battle. In the quest to help our fellow warrior lass Mistress Royce the barony of al-Barran will be hosting a Snowball tourney for heavy and light weapons fighters in the spirit of fighting and melee.
The list will open at 10am on Sunday, 1/27 at Baatan Park and lay on will happen at 11am. It is a donation minimum of 3$ to enter the tourney. Come bring your best weapons of choice and let the fun begin.

Nearby is a coffee house, where stories of past renown and future conquest are spun, while spindles twirl a more tangible yarn. To one side, knights and nobles practice the arts martial, while consorts discuss bruise remedies. Flocks of charming children run errands when not playing on the lush green grass. A short walk away there is singing beside the waterhole and splashing in the cool deep waters. A hedgehog snuffles idly by.
It is yet again the cold and dark time of the year when you wish to simply curl up on a couch with a cup of something hot. But low 'n behold, there is also a better way to enjoy wintertime. Let us invite you to the Canton of Unikankare to celebrate the traditional Midwinter Feast, to be held at Ahtela youth camping centre in Sauvo (street address Ahtelantie 21), near Turku, Finland.

This year will be themed on the Crusades that happened between 1095 and 1291. There will be classes, fighting and more all based around the Crusades. The event will also be a Tournament of Chivalry.

This year's event will be held in the Tudor inspired ---- Church. The hall provides ample opportunity for one and all to view what always promises to be one of the most splendid Court's of the season.
