Unto the Noble Lords and Ladies of the Sylvan Kingdom of AEthelmearc, come one, come all. The Shire of Heronter is pleased and proud to host AEthelmearc's 2008 Spring Crown Tournament to choose the heirs to Khalek & Branwyn.
The event will take place at Boy Scout Camp Merz (5297 West Lake Road, Mayville NY 14757). Site opens on Friday, May 2nd at 6 PM and closes on Sunday, May 4th at noon. Any gentles still on site will be handed a broom and thanked for volunteering to help us clean up! Cabins with electricity are available, but the tent spaces are closer to the tournament field. Tournament pavillions to surround the list field are heartily welcomed! Please notify the steward if you need disabled-accessible facilities.
Come enjoy Crown Tourney at our new, spacious site. In fair weather, a level field with scattered shade will serve as the tourney field. Right beside the field, a very large, open-air, roofed "tabernacle" will be the commons area -- or the indoor list field in case of foul weather.

We have many wonderful things planned. We will be holding our
competitions to choose our Titled Artisan and Titled Bard. We also
have the honor of hosting Guardian of the Gauntlet.
Not an artisan, rapier fighter or bard? It matters not! We also will
have heavy fighting scenarios, archery shoots and a Chirurgeon class
The King is coming! His Majesty Berengar of Nancy will be grace the barony with his presence at the Baronial Rapier Championship and New Year's Celebration.
Saturday will have rapier tourneys, dancing and a feast. The Arts and Sciences competition is for the finest dedication, salutation or lamentation, before, during or after a bout. The feast will be served especially for His Majesty from "To The King's Taste". Also, entertainment fit for a King!
This is truly an event with something for almost everyone. In honor of the Barony's long tradition of hosting quality educational specialty events (including Musicians' Day, Northshield Dance Seminar, Bardic Madness, To Play With Fire, War College, and Medieval Religions Symposium), there will be an educational collegium at the event.
There will also be tournaments for armored and rapier combatants, a dance ball in the afternoon (so it will not fall off the schedule), a delicious feast in the evening, and plenty of fun and fellowship.

The great Baroness of Caerthe, Mary of Blackthorn has spent this long, cold winter dreaming of the great fighters of her realm. She sent a missive to the beautiful Baroness of Dragonsspine, Lydia of the Pines, to challenge her to a chess match at the first thaw. At the behest of their Excellencies, fighters will meet on the chessboard of battle to support their most excellent Baronesses. Each move on the chessboard by the baronesses will be fought on the tourney field by their fighters.

The Champion Competition will be a minimum of 5 items and a maximum of 7 entries in 3 different grand categories. The score for all entries will be totaled and divided by the number of entries to give the "average" score. The artisan with the highest average score will be declared champion. All entries MUST have documentation to be judged in the competition. As the sun sets on the reign of our most gracious Aten Majesties, Eduard and Asa, a new sun raises on the reign of Their Heirs, Phelan and Amirah. Come all, to witness this honored occasion to be held on the banks of the Colorado River in Bullhead City at the Bullhead Community Park.
Sat. site opens at 10am with court starting at 11am. This will be an outside event but we will be under a very large Ramada. Please bring banners or anything else that may add to the atmosphere of this grand event. Site is discreetly wet. Pets allowed on leashes
