This year we have added an extra day to the Potrero War experience. Gates will open at 10am Thursday for those who choose to spend an extra day with us and at 8am Friday for all other attendees. Attending Thursday will cost an additional $5 for adults and children over the age of 13, but only an additional $2 for children between the ages of 6-12. Children under the age of 5 continue to be guests of the Barony. There will be combat scenarios or tournaments on Friday.

On May 22-26, the Canton of Hawk’s Hollow bids welcome to summers warm return and beckons all to gather with them at the Crossroads, otherwise known as the Quint Valley Fairgrounds in Byers, CO. (a brisk 30 minute drive east of Denver). Travelers, who hear the Crossroads call, shall be treated to more carefully crafted, hand-tooled event excitement than ever before. Cantons will clash, dice will be cast, tournaments fought, battle scenarios and equestrian prowess wrought. Feasting, bardic and classes too. Listen and prepare, for the Crossroads are calling you!

We will be celebrating throughout the weekend with a display of Gules and Azure about your person in anyway you feel might enrich the occasion for all. For most, this means clothing in a heraldic fashion, but we welcome all dsiplays of the Mighty Blue and Red.

Journey to Stephen de la Bere's holding in Willow where we shall honor our forebears in true Viking spirit with games and contests of yore – Sheep Stealing, Bear Pit heavy tourney, Rock, Beer Maid of Valhalla, an Archery contest, a Ballista competition, the most Offensive Garb Fashion Show and flying chickens!

The Barony of Fenix is proud to host The Spring Crown Tournament of the Middle Kingdom and the Kingdom Arts & Sciences Competition!

This will be held Memorial Day weekend at the Drawbridge Inn and Convention Center! This is a lovely site with reasonable room rates, restaurants, a tavern, a nightclub, and a lovely pool complex onsite.

Saturday will be a day of the best arts and sciences of our Kingdom on display for competition. There will be A&S roundtable discussions! There will be rapier combat! There will be a Scribal Meet-and-Greet!


Barony of Fenix (Fort Mitchell, Kentucky)

Academy da Cavalaria will take place May 24, 2008. We will start at 9a.m. with some ground work on classical riding skills followed by saddle-time to put these skills to work.

We will start with cavalry drills, advance to handling swords Academy da Cavalariafrom horseback and end with crest combat. Protective headgear for crest combat is a helmet with a face grill (about 1" squares) or fencing mask.
