The Shire of Sterlynge Vayle welcomes all back to the new Damp Dragon Inn for Bards and Bows on September 6, 2008. This event will be held at Camp Amahami, 434 Page Pond Road, in Sanford NY. This is the same beautiful site where Barony Wars is held.
The site opens at 8:00 AM and closes when everything is clean on Saturday night. Anyone still lingering after 9:00 PM will be pressed into service for site clean up. To encourage you to arrive early to enjoy the full day's activities, there will be a pancake and egg breakfast for a small charge from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Oyez, oyez! Fighters of AEthelmearc, our scouts bring word of a hoard of mercenary troops massing across the North Bridge. Their intention is not yet known, but their weapons can nott be for peaceful negotiation. Gather one and all, and help us repel these attackers back across the bridge they crossed on. And after, celebrate the glory of the day with feast and tales of battle.
The day’s activities will include the Wyntersett Guardian Tourney, a Bear-Pit Tourney, an open-field melee, and the main battle upon the bridge. Also planned, a wine & mead making demonstration, and an A&S expo, both organized by our minister of Arts and Science Vito the destroyer (Steve Genovese, vitothedestroyer@hotmail.com). So finish up those Pennsic projects and enter them in the expo.
The Forests of Hornwood hold many dangerous animals on four feet...and on two. After the war, fleeing mercenaries and defeated warriors infiltrate our shire, pillaging what spoils they can find and causing great scenes of discord. Join with us, The Shire of Hornwood, on September 6th from 9am until 8pm in our efforts to clear out the rabble and fill our larders for the coming winter. Michaelmas was the time for beginning new leases, rendering your accounts and paying your annual dues. The reeve of the land would move among the populous to keep watch over the work and to assure that production was up to expectations. Traditionally this holiday was symbolized with "glofe, gees, and gyngeuer." The glove represented the open-handedness and generosity of the lord of the village, eating goose gave good luck in the coming year, and ginger was believed to provide protection against infection.

Tis the hunting season once again in Politarchopolis. Join us on Saturday in a quest, rapier tournament, roving round, kite flying and twilight heavy tournament. At night enjoy the Wild Hunt: dancing, music, feasting and masquerade under the stars. Sunday sees the excitement of the Hunt through the forests and glades of Politarchopolis. Price includes camping, lunches, masquerade and dinner. Gas cooking provided for breakfast. Prize to be awarded for best mask.

Directions: From the north or south, take I-25 to Interquest Parkway. Take the Interquest exit and stay on Interquest until you get to Shoup Rd. Turn right onto Shoup. Take Shoup to Black Forest Road, turn left onto Black Forest, and the Community center is the wood building on the left.

Last summer was a time of great hope in the Shire of Sylvan Glen. After months of intense negotiations and diplomacy, we had reached an agreement with our long time enemy, the Barony of Highland Foorde in the Kingdom of Atlantia. We entered into an alliance with our former nemesis with the goal of ridding our respective lands of the bold and brash brigands menacing our highways and byways.

On the October Long Weekend the Barony of Mordenvale will open up it lands once again so that those who are inclined may wage war amongst themselves, preferably on the war field. The event is a fully catered event and will also include a wonderful assortment of merchants, arts and sciences as well as tavern and coffee house.
When : Gates open Friday 3rd of October and the event continues through until Monday
This event is intended to be a fun get together of people interested in the Arts and Sciences to share and learn about different types of Arts and Sciences and get ideas and feed back. This is not an Arts and Sciences competition but instead a forum of sorts to learn, teach, and share with each other. There will also be a fighting demo on Friday where we hope to have both rapier and heavy fighting. This will be on the University of Minnesota campus and is intended to get the attention of students and show off the fun things we do.

The Barony of Blackstone Mountain will host this years Fall Crown Tournament the weekend of October 4th, 2008. The event site is Hawk's Nest State Park, Route 60, WV (no street address). We will greet the day's visitors at 9AM with gracious hospitality befitting the day. Visitors caught on our lands after 10PM will be pressed into labor mining our black stones!
The time is rapidly approaching for you to complete those final touches on your projects and confirm your documentation for the Kingdom Arts & Sciences Competition.
The AS .xxxxiii. (2008) Competition will take place in Wickenburg, AZ, at the Wickenburg High School [WHS], on Saturday 4 October 2008 and promises to be an exciting and fun-filled day for all. In addition to the glorious displays by our talented Kingdom to enjoy and envy, there will be dancing, a chess tournament, and many other surprises to entertain you. Dancing will be taught and lead by the ever so graceful and patient Mistress Jehanne le feu du Christ. Our Chess Champion has issued a challenge to all, and there will be prizes. THL Eden Blacksmith, granted by the contributions of many generous groups of the Kingdom, will provide a sumptuous buffet luncheon. [Our gratitude!!!] And, your entertainments are most WELCOME for the pleasure of the populace—please contact the Event Steward to set a schedule.
