Vatican publishes documents from Knights Templar heresy trials

The Vatican is finally publishing Processus Contra Templarios, the report from the heresy trials of the Knights Templar that was lost in the Vatican secret archives for 700 years due to a filing error.
The 300 page volume reproduces the papal hearings convened after Philip IV of France arrested and tortured Templar leaders in 1307 on charges of heresy and immorality, and concludes that the Templars were not in fact guilty of actual heresy (sorry about the spoiler). The only downside is the price tag: US$8,377. |
