DNA and linguistic studies show Liverpool's Viking heritage

Researchers believe that the area around Liverpool, England was a Viking settlement. Their findings are based on original surnames and DNA evidence.
Using surnames and place names dating from the 10th to the 16th centuries, the team from the University of Leicester found significant Viking evidence. The region has also had numerous archaeological finds of Viking artifacts. |
