Executive Assistant Leslie Luther-Fulton writes:
It was requested by the Kingdom Seneschal of Drachenwald if the Board would permit translations to be made of various Kingdom documents of Drachenwald, most notably the Kingdom laws, into several different languages. I was also asked if the Board would agree to have Corpora translated into these same languages.
In order to protect the integrity of these documents, Corpora requires a clause stating which document has primacy in case of conflict between an English language version and a translation.
So as to accommodate both needs, the Board of Directors, at the request of the President of the Society, proposes the following change to Corpora IA.:
The approved English language version of any SCA document is the official version. In case of conflict between the English language version and a translation into another language, the English language version governs.
The Board of Directors also proposes the following addition to Corporate Policy as Policy XIV: Translation of Corporate Documents
The following clause will be placed in all documents published by the SCA, Inc. or any of its branches, that are translated into a language other than English and contain rules or policies of the SCA, Inc. or that branch:
