For the first time, those wishing to do research on medieval England online will have access to one of the best resources, William the Conqueror's Domesday Book.

According to the Telegraph, the 900-year-old book, "which covered 13,418 settlements south of the rivers Ribble and Tees," is now available in a searchable format on the domesdaybook.co.uk website. The historic document includes extremely detailed accounts of the villages, their residents and their property.
