Experts are speculating on whether the illustrations in a newly-discovered manuscript on chess were drawn by Leonardo da Vinci. De ludo scacchorum was discovered last year in a private collection.
Luca Pacioli, author of the work, was a close friend of the artist, leading to the belief that the "carefully drawn diagrams, each representing a possible chess scenario, to which Pacioli offered his solutions" were produced by Da Vinci. |
