Royal children subjects of Columbus exhibit

Lady Faoileann reports that the Columbus (Ohio) Museum of Art will sponsor a special exhibit Great Expectations: Aristocratic Children in European Portraiture through June 8, 2008.

The 40 portraits in the exhibit are "drawn exclusively from the unique and world-renowned collection of the Fundación Yannick y Ben Jakober in Mallorca, Spain." The works show court life in Spain, England, France, and Russia and is "most fascinating aspect of this collection is the glimpse it provides into the childhood of some of the most noteworthy figures in history."

A number of lectures and special programs will run in conjunction with the exhibit.
