An ancient tongue gets a modern boost with the creation of Sancta Sedes, a Latin section of the Vatican's website which features papal texts and religious works.
Pope Benedict XVI, an advocate for use of Latin, has also given his blessings to use of the Latin Tridentine Mass and has addressed cardinals of the Catholic Church in the language. The Latin material on the Vatican website may be viewed at: http://www.vatican.va/latin/latin_index.html |
