From the halls of Montezuma

Mexican archaeologists believe they have, at long last, found the fabled palace of Aztec emperor Montezuma, destroyed by the conquistador Hernando Cortés in 1521.

Pieces of the wall of the palace were discovered during the renovation of a colonial-era building in the heart of Mexico City. The palace was destroyed by the Spanish who later built Mexico City on its ruins.
