al-Barran Day of A&S “A Silver Lining” November 22, 2008
Site:
Sandia Preparatory School
532 Osuna Road NE
Albuquerque, NM 87113
Site Fee: None – although we are asking for a new, unwrapped toy or $5 donation for Toys for Tots.
al-Barran A&S Champion Competition – A body of work containing three to five entries along with short documentation of no more than two pages for each entry will be accepted for the Champion competition. All submissions should be submitted by no later than 10am. One of the works should adhere to the theme for the day, “A silver lining”; meaning, it should either be silver or have silver embellishment of some sort. This is silver in color, not necessarily having to be silver metal. The projects do not have to be completed, but can be a work in progress.
Newcomer’s, First Timer’s, and Non-Competitor’s A&S Display – This is not particularly a competition, but a chance for our newcomers, first timers to display their works without the pressure of being judged, and for and those not wanting to compete for Champion to also display their works. No documentation is required, but is welcomed. The projects do not have to be completed, but can be a work in progress. These A&S projects will be put on display with comment sheets and largesse containers. All entries should be submitted no later than 10:30am.
A donation lunch, prepared by Mistress Monika von Zell, will be served at noon. Bring your A&S entries, your thirst for knowledge and your hungry bellies and join us!
Mistress Cailte will be hosting a scriptorium throughout the day for our aspiring calligraphers and illuminators.
There will be classes to meet just about anyone's interests. We are still seeking teachers for these classes. If you are interested, please contact Lady Kimberly Blackwood at Snowbunny0 @ aol.com
