DNA tests have shown the remains of a 2,000-year-old warrior in an Iranian tomb are those of a woman.

“Despite earlier comments that the warrior was a man because of the metal sword, DNA tests showed the skeleton inside the tomb belonged to a female warrior, said Alireza Hojabri-Nobari to a Hambastegi newspaper.

The remains of other women warriors have been discovered near the Caspian Sea.
