Missing Canterbury Manuscript Recovered

An 11th century gospel lectionary, missing from Canterbury Cathedral since the mid-16th century, has been recovered.
The work of a "highly skilled scribe from the Holy Roman Empire," the book is thought to have been dismembered during the protestant Reformation and the pages used as book covers. The surviving pages have been purchased for £7,000 and returned to the Cathedral. |
