Ingredients
- 1 part rice (e.g. 1 cup)
- 2 scant parts water (e.g. 1 7/8 cups)
Place over flame, on tripod or rack, until water boils well.
COVER the pot and place it BESIDE BUT NOT IN OR OVER the fire. Let sit while you cook the rest of the meal - 15 minutes minimum, more if you're cooking a lot of rice in a large pot.
Remove from heat, uncover. Fluff rice and serve.
Notes If using brown rice, use 2 full parts water and increase the standing time.
