Caer Galen Defender

Harken and Greetings to all. While Henry the VIII and Francis I regale and outshine each other at their Fields of the Cloth of Gold In France, the Barony of Caer Galen searches for it's next Defender and Lt. of the Guard. We request your presence, participation and lounging in  our Fields of Blue and Gold at Pickle Gulch Campground. Heavy fighters will battle in the morning in a Bear Pit with Alternate Weapon Styles. The afternoon fighting will be Snow Ball. Prizes will be given to the new Defender, and for the Most Chivalrous Fighter, Best Death, and the most Patriotic fighting Garb of Blue and Gold, The Lieutenant of the Guard will host fencing tourneys in the morning and afternoon.

Restrictions at the Campground.. Bring Firewood. Please bring Fire Extinguishers. Be Aware  Altitude is 8500 feet.

Our Illustrious Doge is looking for a good Right Hand!.     Are you good with a blade? Do you have an interest in the Doge's convoluted politics? Want to earn silver for your efforts? Then you could be the Mano Destra del Doge! Duties would include laughing, light bodyguard work, and occasionally explaining the Doge's "point of view." His Eminence will hold a tourney to determine the most suitable candidate, with prizes awarded for best Death, prettiest Kill, and (of course) the Mano Destra del Doge. All authorized fencers welcome! Our famous  Wheel of Fruit will be spun to tell you what fruit you will FLING.

By Baronial command .. Come prepared to Lounge ..  Then do some more Lounging

We are in search of Best Blue and Gold Lounge Garb.. Prizes will be given.

Our Minister of Children is planning Activities for the young gentles.

 Arts & Science classes will be available for your learning pleasure. A Laurel Prize Tourney will give participants an opportunity to show the glorious fruits of their Creativity and Knowledge Stone soup.. Bring foods to add our soup pot on Saturday night .. Bring happy smiles and a spoon and bowl.  We will have two pots of soup    Veggie and Meat Lovers. And be prepared to Share your Sonnets on Saturday Evening.  Share your favorite one or Write a Sonnet .. Maybe even a sonnet of the Caer Galen Fields of Blue and Gold.

Directions to site:
From Boulder area:   Take SR 119 ( Canyon Blvd) west from Boulder to Nederland.  From Nederland Travel south approximately 13 miles to the turnoff.(Between mile marker 10 & 11)  Turn  right  (Missouri Gulch Rd.)   Follow the signs to the Campground.  Go Left at the fork to the Parking Lot.

 From Denver Area: Take US 6 to Golden and SR 119 to Blackhawk. Travel approximately three miles north on 119 to the turnoff (Between mile marker 10 & 11) Turn  Left  (Missouri Gulch Rd) . Follow the signs to the Campground.  Go Left at the fork to the Parking Lot.
