Greetings all good Gentles and be of good cheer for the great Lonely Mountain Defender draws nigh! Enjoy days of frivolity, fighting and fun in the lovely high mountain meadow. This year's event will include such delites as A&S classes (details to come), ax throwing, archery, heavy and light weapons tourneys and of course the Defender gauntlet. There will be Royal Courts, children's events, and dancing into the night. Saturday evening their will be a potluck in the meadow with the Shire of Drygestan providing the main course. Bring your best smile and come join us at this beautiful site for this joyous celebration of the best of SCA life.

Shire of Drygestan
Witness for yourself who will be the next defender of Dragons. If your skills are honed and your wit sharp, it could be you! Lonely Mountain is at an elevation of approximately 9500 feet. Be prepared for hot afternoons, occasional rains, and cold nights. There is no water on site so be sure to bring plenty. The Forest Service will set fire restrictions, if any, at the time of the event. Like years past please stay updated on the Forest Closures and event news on our website http://www.drygestan.org. Also the Forest Service has set Camping Restrictions to the Meadow side of the road only. No Merchants, please.

Directions: Take State Road 502 from 285/84 (at Pojoaque) towards Los Alamos.
Take the White Rock exit. Turn right at the first stoplight. Continue
straight through the many stop lights in Los Alamos until the NM 4 junction. Turn
right on NM 4 to Forrest Road 289. Make the turn left and follow this road for
several miles. The sight is on the right.
From Albuquerque: Exit I-25 onto Rt. 44 to San Ysidro. Turn Right onto NM 4
though Jemez springs. Shortly after the caldera turn right on Forest Rd 289;
follow this road for several miles, the sight is on the right
