French Castle Being Built in Medieval Fashion

Welcome to the modern Middle Ages! Researchers and craftsmen are working together to construct an authentic medieval castle in the forests of Burgundy, France. Ten years into the project, Guedelon Castle is about 1/3 completed.
The project is the brainchild of Michel Guyot who, working with a team of craftsmen, horses and only period tools, hopes to add a village and abbey to the project. The site is open to the public, and volunteers in period dress can help with the work. |
