The Shire of Crimson River proudly presents Black Rose this year at the Cumberland Centre in Columbia, TN. Black Rose will feature a series of live weapons competitions (spear, axe, knife throwing, and archery), these scores will then be added to the scores of the heavy combat tournament to determine the over all Champion of the Black Rose.
The live weapons ranges will be open from 10am till 2pm for practice and scoring. The heavy tournament will start at 2:00pm. You get points by your rank in each event, so participation is the key. I have equipment for those who do not have there own.
The tournament is open to everyone not just the heavy fighters. So, even though someone is not an authorised fighter they can still participate in the other events. They just won't get a score for the heavy tournament.
We have prizes for each event. The winner of the archery category will receive a dozen sitka spruce, self nocked, goose feather fletched arrows. The overall winner will receive the grand prize of a rose-headed war hammer, (similar to the one from last year).
After the heavy tournament there will be a rapier tournament and possibly bocci, while we await an "around the world" German/Italian/Spanish feast prepared be Lady Andriet di Pisan at or around 6:30pm. There will be a revel around the fire after feast, so bring your drums, your beer and your stories.
Don't forget that time is running out to qualify for the "Champions Tournament" at MGT, which is only open to winners of a singles tournament with 12 or more participants. So as long as we have more than 12 in the tourni the winner will qualify.
