Let it be known that on the eleventh day of November, Anno Societatis Forty One, the Canton of Elvegast in the Kingdom of Atlantia will host a Pas d'armes in celebration of the marriage of Margaret of York to Charles the Bold, Duke of Burgundy, for such a day of pageantry, chivalry, and celebration shall not soon be repeated. - Baroness Adriana la Bretonne rumored combatants who should wish to take the field may seek counsel from Mestre Callixtus Gill regarding the day's combat. Those of gentler talents may find advice from Lady Rosalind Delamere who shall serve as the day's minister of the arts and sciences.

The spectacle of the processions, pageantry, and banquets that did accompany the nuptials of Margaret of York (sister to King Edward IV of England) to Charles the Bold, Duke of Burgundy in July of 1468 was such that contemporaries did wonder at the wealth and splendor of the Burgundian court.

The highlight of the festivities was a Pas d'armes held in the Market Place at Bruges. The most complete account of the tournament was written at the time by Olivier de la Marche:

"Anthony, Count de la Roche undertook to defend the golden tree against a succession of challengers ? with the winner being the knight to break the most lances in the prescribed time. The tournament lasted for eight days, and challengers included Anthony Woodville, Lord Scales, brother to Elizabeth, Queen of England."
