Ethnic diversity in ancient Egypt appears to have existed in all levels of society, even the highest.

Egypt, a civilized crossroads between the Mediterranean, Africa and Asia, has long been considered a melting pot. New CAT (computer-assisted tomography) scans performed on mummies suggest "a society where race had little to do with class."
