The remains were originally declared to "probably" belong to the saint in 1909, but preliminary tests seem to prove the opposite. Among the results are evidence of embalming fluid, which would not have been present for someone burned at the stake. The results of tests yet to be released include "carbon-14 dating and genetic tests to determine the sex of the individual."
