Advertisements in newspapers throughout England, Australia, the United States and Europe are asking the question: "Can you trace your family tree back to 1066? Might your ancestors have claimed the English throne?"
Those who feel they might have a claim to the English throne are asked to submit proof of their ancestry to English Heritage genealogists. "If William had not taken the throne in 1066, the entire course of English history would have been very different," said genealogist Nick Barratt. |
