6th century book restored in Ethiopia

In an article for the Spring 2007 issue of Skin Deep, a publication for bookbinders, Mark Winstanley discusses Tsbook [Tigrinya for Good] - The Gospel of Abba, a 6th century Ethiopian Gospel and its repair project.

The article includes photos of the book and the work being done to restore it. The manuscript is owned by the Abba Garima Monastery near Adwa, Tigray, Northern Ethiopia. Those working on the project include: "Lester Capon - Bookbinder; Mark Winstanley, assistant to Lester; Jacques Mercier - French scholar of Ethiopian art; Abba Daniel, Ethiopian monk from the Patriarch; Sam Fogg, an English collector."
