Fighters face obstacles in Springfield, Missouri parks

Park officials of the Springfield-Greene County Parks Department (Springfield, Missouri), concerned for the safety of SCA fighters, have contacted members of the local organization to advise them that their activities will need to regulated as a sport. Mike Penprase of the News-Leader has the story.
SCA members, as well as members of the Adrian Empire, have been using the parks for fighter practices and will now be required to "follow long-established department park guidelines. That includes having insurance and registering with the department to use specific parks." |
