On the military history blog Wapenshaw, there is a discussion of the "myth of the longbow," the belief that swords and armor were the stuff of knights while a bow was the weapon of the peasant.
The blogger continues with the theroy that the effectiveness of the longbow is largely a 20th century construct that put the peasantry on the same footing as the elite. Readers have the opportunity to comment. |
