The baronial champions of Lyondemere will have special duties
throughout the year. The Champions are expected to stand with their
excellencies' court at Lyondemere events and represent Lyondemere to
their fighting community. Championship list participants must have a
consort to enter. Champions and consorts are invited to be guests of
the Baron and Baroness at the evening's feast. If you have questions
or concerns about the duties and responsibilites of the baronial
champions please contact the Baron (baron@lyondemere.org) or Baroness
(baroness@lyondemere.org).
Open Lists:
There will also be lists open to everyone, whether you wish to compete
for baronial champion or not!
For heavies: With the success of last year's tourney within a tourney, The Inferno is back, badder than ever. Sir Dante and Sir Gareth announce Inferno II--The Descent. They will once again host a 14" round, no thrusting, buckler prize-tourney to take place in between the rounds of Lyondemere Anniversary Tourney (loaner bucklers will be available). This year, however, they will also host as many speed tourneys as fighters are willing to fight after the buckler tourney. Bring your great weapons, single-swords, two weapons, etc. to see just who will be the "soul" survivor of The Inferno. There can be only one!
For rapier: Between the rounds of the Champion lists, there will be a double elimination speed tourney. Fighters are expected to use different secondaries each round, so come prepared!
Other Activities:
Youth are invited to take part in youth combat and children's
activites during the day. Hounds are invited to take part in hound
coursing, a new addition to this event. There will be a magnificent
basket raffle to help support the barony. Also, lunch and cold drinks
will be provided for a donation.
Revel:
After the tournament and a break for dinner, we will be hosting a
revel with dancing, music, and dessert. Dancing will be led by our
own Mistress Aliskye Raizel, and Master Niccolo Gianfigliazzi
Genovese. Come join us as we boogie the night away, rennaissance style!
To aid your dinner arrangements, we will provide dining space for
those who wish to bring (or fetch) their own food. Restaurant maps
will be provided for those who wish to dine off-site.
