THL Matheus Reyner, Publicity Deputy for Great Western War X, has released updates and announcements pertaining to the upcoming War, including the deadline for online pre-registration the end of August (mail in is open until the 15 of September).

GREAT WESTERN WAR X- Site Directions, Pre-reg and A&S class Pre-reg

The 10th Anniversary of Caid's Great Western War will be celebrated from Tuesday, October 2 through Monday, October 8, 2007

THE SITE:
Enjoy our new site with green lawns, shade trees, lake breezes and big blue skies: Buena Vista Aquatic Recreational Area, 13601 Ironbark Road, Bakersfield, CA 93312. The park is just 110 miles from downtown Los Angeles! It is an easy drive over the hill to a lovely park where we have a large lakeside area all to ourselves.

SITE OPENS at noon on Tuesday October 2, 2007 for all PRE-REGISTERED guests, and is open noon Wednesday October 3, 2007 for those who are not pre-registered.

PREREGISTRATION:
Is being accepted NOW. Online pre-registration will close on August 31, 2007. Mail in pre-registration will close on September 15, 2007.

To celebrate Great Western Wars Tenth Anniversary There will be a limited number of cast pewter pilgrim badge site tokens produced. To ensure you get one we suggest pre-registering, as a token will be produced for each person who Pre-registers. Another batch will be made available at gate for those who register on site, while supplies last.

LAND ALLOCATION:
Is Limited to Kingdom Royal encampments. Everything else is first come first served.

ATTENTION: In an effort to be fair to those who can not arrive early - Those who are pre-registered and arriving on Tuesday may reserve land for others who have also Pre-registered. On Wednesday all land is first come first served. So make sure everyone in your group is registered before September 15, 2007.

VOLUNTEERING:
You've heard the old saying that "many hands make light work". Please consider donating a few hours of your time to volunteer at the war. In addition to helping to make it a memorable event you will earn a monetary donation to your favorite SCA territory. A week of fun and unique challenges with an equestrian area next to the tourney fields for maximum visibility, so bring your finest barding for tournaments, match games, quests, and more!

MERCHANTS:
