A new study by Sue Niebrzydowski of Bangor University's Institute of Early and Modern Studies says that women of 600 years ago had unprecedented power and independence.

"We found women running priories, commissioning books, taking early package tours to visit the Holy Land," Niebrzydowski said, and added that "women were also defending their property and property rights."
