"It Takes a Medieval Village..."

In an article for Vision Magazine, Leanne Tibiatowski looks at the concept of "the village" through the lens of the SCA.

"Many people are coming together to find ways to create meaning and provide opportunities to be seen and contribute. Imagine a place where you can experience the exotic nature of the far off village along with Clinton’s picture of that village of people coming together, modeling a positive way of living to our youth. I found a place that does just that.

One day as I was walking the path of my life I fell down “the rabbit hole and landed back in time in a place where kings and queens don exquisite crowns and serve as rulers for a kingdom, with chivalrous knights loyal to the crowns, a large populace of members ready to serve, and the opportunity to be part of a community based on honor and chivalry. It is a place where the arts and the lively, colorful nature of the medieval times are re-created and celebrated. The Society of Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an international non-profit organization that has been dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th century Europe since the late 60s."
