What outdoor activity did women ride astride at and carry their own birds of prey with equal ability to the men? It was hunting! Several Kings wrote their own books on this sport, many illuminations showed women riding to the hunt, and falconry was enjoyed by everyone. This is an event not to be missed and it will be your chance to learn about period hunting techniques and game, hunting weapons, and animals used for hunting in period.

An Tir, long known for great parties, A&S and some of the best one-on-one fighters around, is finally coming around to the rest of the Known Worlde in trying to actually train War Units.

They are holding a 4 day Intensive War Training Event called "Art of War" The main instructors will be from outside of An Tir: Master John the Pell from The East/AEthelmearc, Sir Straum from Midrealm, Count Sir Balin from Caid and Mistress Isabeau and Master Joseph (the Event Stewards from Estrella War). Others to be added.

This year, it is being hosted by the Barony of Dragons Laire in Silverdale, WA. The site is the lovely Silverdale Beach Hotel, previous site of the 2006 Kingdom A&S. The date is March 14 - 16th. When making reservations at the hotel, please make sure to mention the SCA to get the discount.

We bring you tidings of Yule in the Barony of Seagirt, which will happen on Saturday, December 8th. There are many changes this year, least of which is the location.

Yule will be held at Luxton Hall, at the fairgrounds in Langford, BC, a suburb of Victoria (directions will appear later on the website). Also, to celebrate the 50th birthday of our own Baron James, there will be a Baron's Birthday Tourney held that day, as well as a Games Tourney (for those who don't fight but wish to compete for His Excellency's entertainment!). We will also have a Feast, a Pageant, Tavern, Horse Racing, Cleavage Contest for the fairer sex (Baron James has stated that male cleavage is not fair) and many other fine activities.
