Just a friendly reminder that the Northshield Tournament of Chivalry is being held at the end of May. We would like to invite all to come and enjoy a day of fighting in the Northern Suburbs of Minneapolis/St Paul, just a short 55 minutes north.

An exhibition, The Age of Armor, will be presented April 19-June 22, 2008 at Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin. The exhibit will consist of armor from the Higgins Armory Museum, as well as photographs by SCA members "in the form of platinum prints of California photographer E.F. Kitchen."

This is truly an event with something for almost everyone. In honor of the Barony's long tradition of hosting quality educational specialty events (including Musicians' Day, Northshield Dance Seminar, Bardic Madness, To Play With Fire, War College, and Medieval Religions Symposium), there will be an educational collegium at the event.
There will also be tournaments for armored and rapier combatants, a dance ball in the afternoon (so it will not fall off the schedule), a delicious feast in the evening, and plenty of fun and fellowship.

Robin Netherton is an internationally known researcher and lecturer of medieval dress history and co-editor of the journal Medieval Clothing and Textiles. The day will include lectures on the 14th century European fitted dress ("cotehardie") and the Greenland gored gown, as well as three additional lectures to be announced.
