| Clouds hide the passage of time, |
| Minutes pass like hours unending. |
| Tension builds for the moment to come, |
| Determination hangs thick, unfailing. |
| Lightning quick, in the blink of an eye |
| Not a single soul can be discerned, |
| With but a word, the combatants fly... |

Forgive the crudity of the below newsfeed from
SCAtoday.net. Until I find the time to learn
programming (riiight), the information below
is still valid and current.
| 9/25/02 - Due to circumstances beyond my control, it's taken me a bit longer to get the pictures from Armorgeddon online, BUT the little fay folk wouldn't leave me be. So here they are for whomever wishes to view them. I hope they meet with satisfaction. | |
| 9/16/02 - My first war (or skirmish, still not clear on which it was) has passed into history with the rise of the morning sun. With the final battle, Calontir has surpassed its intended foe and has risen victorious from the fray. It was amazing to watch the "Braveheart" clash of metal, wood and leather in the midst of the green. The day had been overcast and relatively cool, which, for those in armor, was likely more of a blessing than it was for those who chose to be spectators. I did learn a few interesting things concerning woad (since you'll notice a few painted faces in the crowd) and the fact that it would have been a really good idea to have brought a more comfortable chair or cushion to court since three different royals were represented with more than enough business for most to be readily involved. Thinking about it, from what I've gathered concerning Estrella and such, Armorgeddon was more likely a skirmish considering the turn out, but it was excellent sans organization. ;) | |
| 9/8/02 - Event number two, strongly beneath my belt and it's bitten me harder than the last (you should see the welt). I've learned a bit more and hopefully my pictures, as my SCA foray, will continue unabated. I will say this much, feast was an interesting experience, especially from the server's perspective. I didn't get out among the tables and serve the food, but I somehow managed to do a lot of managing with the serving table. Then before I could sit down (not that I wanted to by that point, tho I likely should have), I volunteered to help with the Gladiator "Pit" (for lack of a better term). That was a highly entertaining experience, tho I seriously wish my camera could take better night pics... torch-lit events make for bad pictures. I do have a day pic of the arena, but it's definitely not the same. | |
| 9/4/02 - ....and so begins my foray into the SCA. As you will find, my first event is scattered with anything that caught my fancy. Hopefully as time passes, I'll acquire images more worthy of an event. Later I'll add more in the line of descriptions and small stories, but until then... Enjoy! |
