That is super cool. That most everybody's face is covered by a steel mask is pretty intimidating.

Why do the uniforms remind me of Monty Python and Holy Grail

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Lake_Peipus

Interesting history indeed!

Quote:
The crusader forces likely numbered somewhere in the area of 1,000 to 2,500 soldiers (maybe less - 500 to 1000)[citation needed]. Most of them were Germans, including knights of the Teutonic Order and their squires, although there were large numbers of Danes and Swedish and Estonian mercenaries. The Russian force in contrast numbered around 5,000 soldiers: Alexander and his brother Andrew's bodyguards (druzhina), who numbered around 1,000, plus the militia of Novgorod (not at full force, because of the absence of a direct threat to Novgorod).

from my point of view this wasen't reenactment cause you can see equipment mimxed from XII-XIII century and from XIV-XVI
like here:

or here:

and the battle happened on April 5, 1242 at Lake Peipus. we here have exactly same problem some dudes just don't understand that for battle in midle of XIIIth century on borders of civilized world you cant take equiupment that was in usage from late XIVth, even equipment from late XIIIth but from center of civilization like Italy is big NO (imagine that there is no internet, phones, telegraphs and ideas travel veeery slow clothes that where in fashion in 1400 in France and outdatted in 1405 start show up in east of Europe in like 1403 and are very in fashion in like 1410)
